How important is The Meta Description Tag

How important is the meta description tag ? Today I'm Gonna Tell How important is the meta description tag Your About ?

-this is a very frequently asked question by blogger all around the world.

These days the importance of the meta description is less and less important. The meta description was originally and important factor for a higher position in search engines ranking. On that time search engines weren`t so "wise", and the meta descriptions where full of spammy keywords.

Now search engines are more wiser and spamming your meta description might can bring to get penalized or even banned. It`s not easy to recover your blog from a ban. Be aware, if you decide to use meta descriptions don`t make them look spammy and don`t stuff the them whit lots of keywords.

If you have a relevant meta description google may use it as a snippet for search results description , else it will use a piece of text from your content or instead google may use your ODP (DMOZ) directory description.

A well written meta description can attract more visitors through search engines search results , but be careful , don`t use the same description for all your pages ,google and some other search engines may threat this as duplicated content.
Try to keep your description tag bellow 150 characters (including spaces), don`t repeat any word more than twice ,a high keyword density may can bring to get penalized. Write accurate ,relevant and unique descriptions for each particular page, write them for humans instead of search engines.

In conclusion, the meta description tag is useless for your ranking. It has no weight in google algorithm.

Ever wanted to add a blog list or blogroll to your blogger blog? Check out this video tutorial!

Today we’re releasing a new page element for Layouts blogs: Blog List. The Blog List improves on our Link List page element by using blogs’ RSS and Atom feeds to show update times, post titles, and snippets.

Here’s a quick summary of the features that a Blog List gives you:

- Link to blogs, web pages, and feeds from your blog’s sidebar, with an optional favicon
- For pages with RSS and Atom feeds, Blog List can show last updated time, post title, and a snippet of the latest post

Google Adsense Filter more categories Coming Soon

Now you can choose from the listed categories, which include religion, politics, and dating, and your selections will be applied to ads only in English....

A few months ago, we launched category filtering in a number of English-speaking countries to help you control the ads that appear on your pages. To provide you with more ad filtering options, you'll soon be able to filter 3 more categories from your pages, for a total of up to 8 categories. You should notice this change within the next few weeks.

To get started with category filtering, sign in to AdSense and visit the Ad Review Center, located under the AdSense Setup tab. You can choose from the listed categories, which include religion, politics, and dating, and your selections will be applied to ads in English no matter how they're targeted. Please keep in mind that filtering ad categories may affect your AdSense revenue -- we recommend first reviewing the percentages displayed in your account to understand the amount of revenue you may be blocking.
We're continuing to work on additional filtering capabilities, and we appreciate all the feedback you've provided so far. Feel free to leave us a comment, and visit our Help Center to learn more about category filtering.

Are You Disclosing Affiliate Links?

Today I'm Gonna Share A Talk With You That is About Are You Disclosing Your Affiliate Links?

As an Australian I’m not directly impacted by the FTC and its regulations so I’ve not really had to change my own approach to disclosure – but I’d be interested to hear a bit of discussion on the topic – particularly around these questions:

1.Do you disclose affiliate links on your blog in some way?
2.If so – how do you do it (every time you use one, in the bottom of posts, site wide disclosures…. something else)?
3.if so – has the FTC regulations impacted what you do?
My personal approach for the last couple of years has been to have a sitewide disclosure rather than a per post one (although here on ProBlogger I have been noting affiliate links in posts more often lately).

What about you – do you disclose affiliate links?

Make Your Blog Spam Protected

If you want to protect your Blogger blog from spam comments. Enable comment moderation so you can accept or reject each comment individually.

Follow this steps.

1.Sign in to your Blogger account.

2.Go to the settings tab. Click the link for comment settings.

3.Under "Who Can Comment?" select anyone. You'll protect yourself from spam with steps further down the page.

4.Scroll down the page and select "Enable Comment Moderation." You must give the email address you want the comments to come to for moderation.

5.You can further prevent spam by selecting "Show Word Verification for Comments." This uses CAPTCHA to make the user type random letters from an image into a form before the comment is sent to you for moderation.

6.The final setting is "Comment Notification Address." If you select this, you will receive an email when a comment is published. This isn't necessary to select, since you receive each comment in an email to moderate before it's published.

7.In the comment moderation email you receive, you have a link to either publish, reject, or go to the comment moderation page for your blog. If you only have one or two comments, you can click the publish or reject link right in the email. If you have many comments, you may choose to click the link to the comment moderation page on your blog. There, you can accept or reject several comments at a time.

4 Foundations Of A Successful Blog

Today The Post I'm Sharing With You Is The 4 Foundations Of A Successful Blogs So Lets Started With it :

Foundation 1 – Content

My #1 task in years 1-2 of dPS was building content.
The focus was content for beginners (this was expanded later).
My aim was for every post to solve a problem that a new camera owner had.
The content was all ‘how to’ related – practical stuff that helped readers do or achieve something
Quality of content was paramount – but so too was the idea of increasing the ‘quantity’ of content

I started with 3-4 posts a week but aimed to get it daily after 1 year.

Foundation 2 – Promotion

‘Build it and they Will Come’ is an idea with some truth to it – but in the early days of your blog you also need to actively promote your blog – readers won’t just find it.
Define your potential reader – who are they? What are their needs?
Identify where that type of reader is already gathering online (and offline).
Participate in those sites where your potential reader is gathering – guest posts, building a forum presence, leaving useful comments, networking etc.

Foundation 3 – Community

People don’t just come online for information – they increasingly are coming online to find ‘belonging’
Readers want to participate, interact, join and relate – give them opportunity to do so
On dPS starting a forum was one way I did this however community was something I went out of my way to build on the blog itself.
Use polls, start discussions, run debates, ask questions, highlight readers work, invite people to promote themselves on your blog, link to your readers
When you build community you build an army of evangelists for your blog, create social proof and open many doors for growth and strengthening of your site

Foundation 4 – Capture Contacts

Most people who visit your site will never return naturally – even if they like your site
On dPS I prominently invite people to subscribe in numerous places
RSS is not always King – on dPS email subscription makes up over 75% of all subscribers
Email newsletters drive as much traffic as Google does on dPS
Email newsletters drive significant earnings (advertising, affiliate promotions and product sales)
Email newsletters build community and make the site more sticky and personal
